She’s the mac to his cheese. He’s the pb to her j.
And they’re getting MARRIED!

Micah and Sam, you crazy kids are just plain awesome together.
Micah is a brilliant artist and such a gentle, caring soul. She has this knack for making people feel at ease…she’s good company. Sam is a bit of a prodigy in the music department. He passionately serves as the Contemporary Music Director at Cypress Creek Christian Church and there are undoubtedly big things to come from this guy.
I have so much respect for people who truly GET each other…no frills necessary. 
You two are setting yourselves up for such a wonderful future together. I can’t wait to be a part of the beautiful celebration on April 9th!

Oh wait, I know! It’s my NIECE, Karli!!

I cannot wait to meet this baby. And I’m not the only one.

I like it.
I can’t believe that in a few short months my baby brother Brandon will be a Daddy. (and a GOOD one, too!) Keri’s baby shower was last weekend and she drove allllll the way down from Lubbock. After the pink wrapping paper was all shredded, the last sip of sherbet punch was slurped, and the final group of chattering ladies made their way out of the door, we were able to grab a few quick shots of her perfectly adorable belly bump. Next time I see my dear sister-in-law, baby Karli will be hanging out in Keri’s ARMS! I am giddy with anticipation. Keri, Brandon, and little Karli, I love you to infinity and back!

…and we’re back!
I thought that I could stand to do some freshening up here at jbo photo, and so a few days ago, I decided to tackle the blog. A nip here, a tuck there, and here’s where we ended up! What do you think? I’d love to hear your feedback. I am no longer going to use the jbo photo website, so you can now find session information, photo galleries, and other goodies right here on the blog!

First of all, there’s the delightful Megan and her charming Nate. Megan’s gorgeous face (and perfectly pregnant belly!) have appeared on the blog before…
Stella is a big sister now!
Look who’s outta the belly! It’s Sam!
And then there’s Seth. From high school and beyond, Seth’s always been “Class Favorite”. He’s just that kind of guy. Lucky for him, he ended up finding a favorite of his own – the lovely Michelle.
Annie is all sugar and spice…maybe a little heavy on the spice. Work it, little miss!
Luke! With those eyes, and his little streak of mischief, he’s got it made in the shade.

GORGEOUS FAMILY.
Well hello there, Braden.
Killing me with those beautiful baby lips.
Easy-breezy family cuteness.
Sweeeet.
I think Brian’s going in for some sweet nothings…atta boy!
Good looking? Why yes, yes you are.
Can you feel the love?? And Braden’s right there in the middle of it all. Just as it should be.
Let’s face it. I love BABIES! (And I find that I am particularly partial to cute ones. ) Which is why it came as no surprise that I loved spending time with Jen, Brian, and their adorable little dude, Braden. We strolled around 19th Street in the Heights and enjoyed the perfect weather on a lazy Sunday. I hadn’t visited that little part of town in a long time, and I almost felt like we were in an entirely different city!
Pardon the random side note, but I often forget just how many unique and fun parts of town Houston has to offer. It really encourages me to push beyond our same-old/same-old stomping grounds and go out and re-discover my diverse, quirky city.
I loved our time together, Walters family! Squeeze that sweet baby for me!

Shannon and Axel are getting married!
Shannon’s cousin’s cousin is my best friend, Lizard. Got that?
Axel’s cousin’s cousin is…well, I have no idea. But I’m sure he or she is a very nice person.
Are they cute or what?
They like each other.
Happy (and good-looking) holidays for these two.
Shannon and Axel are the kind of people that you just want to know. So easy to talk to and you just instantly feel like old friends.
I loved getting a little sneak-peek into their sweet love story. They are getting married next summer on the very best day of the year, June 26th! (ahem, it’s my birthday )
Shannon and Axel, I wish you the very best as you build a new life together! Please keep in touch. You know…tell your cousin to tell her cousin to call her best friend and give her the scoop. Simple as that.

This is my best friend, Alicia. You might notice that she’s kinda beautiful.
I’m sure Nick notices each and every day.
Reason #54 why I love Alicia and Nick: They are a no-fuss, easy-breezy, keep-it-cool kind of couple.
And they just work.
So there.
Nick, I have to give you a gold star for humoring our photographic endeavors. I know it may not have been your *ideal* way to spend a Saturday morning, but you kept your moping and groaning (more or less) in check.
It is only fair that we took a moment to showcase your inner badass.
Hard. Core.
You know what? It is kinda tricky to take pictures of your friends. Especially those you don’t see very often. Alicia is crazy-busy working at HBU and pursuing her DOCTORATE at A&M. (smart/gorgeous…be jealous). Meanwhile, I’m kid-wrangling day after day. It makes it difficult to find solid hang-out time, and Alicia and I were long overdue. I pretty much just wanted to throw the ‘ol camera aside and gab with my best girl! But I’d say we did a decent job at multi-tasking.
Oh, my Lil’ Aleelee… I cherish the days of Jewel on the radio and Popeye’s Chicken in our bellies. Thank you for being my forever friend. This, my dear, is especially for you:

Don’t eat the baby!
Although, can’t say that I blame you. Mr. Tad is quite scrumptious.
If you’re cute and you know it touch your head.

Oh, how I love this.
Is he precious?? Just a Tad.
It is fair to say that Alissa and Jeremiah also know how to bring on the cute.
Now that’s a man who likes what he sees.
How lucky am I? I got to hang out and take pictures with Alissa, Jeremiah, and Tad not one, but TWO times! Tad wasn’t entirely sold on the whole camera concept during our first meet-up. He spent most of his time running in the opposite direction, politely instructing me to, “Don’t! Don’t!” 
I certainly did not want to offend my new little friend…word on the street is that the last person who stuck a camera in his face took an apple to the head!
While we did not have any produce available, there was no shortage of soccer balls, footballs, and Tonka trucks. I wasn’t going to risk it.
However, attempt #2 went swimmingly. Tad was well-rested and full of pep! He certainly keeps Alissa and Jeremiah on their toes – the boy doesn’t stop!
It was truly a pleasure, Johnston family. I’d love to do it again sometime!
I’ll even bring the apples, just in case.

Julie and Andrew

You know what kind of couples I find awesome?
The kind who love to laugh together.
Therefore, as determined by the Janica Boles definition of the word, Julie and Andrew are officially AWESOME.
Where there is laughter, there is love.
I just love how Andrew smiles when he looks at his lovely wife.
And seriously, if you were looking into these eyes, how could you NOT want to smile? Julie, you’re gorrrrgeous!

Julie and Andrew…FINALLY! Seems like this little session of ours has been in the works for a long time, doesn’t it?
I love how we started with huge, ambitious wedding-ish/Galveston-esque plans only to end up in the most simple and perfect way. Exactly what we never knew we always wanted, right?
It was a delight to spend time with you both and I can’t wait to do it again! Have a fruity beverage out on the top deck of the cruise ship for me next weekend, OK?

You know how some people in the world are beautiful, some are compassionate, and some are talented?
Stephanie is all three.
Back in July, I had the distinct privilege of helping Stephanie create some images to be used as artwork for her upcoming debut album, Overcomers.
Stephanie truly has a gift for creating music. The lyrics emerge from her heart of hearts, and she molds them with such powerful music – the result is nothing short of inspired.
Those who get to see Stephanie in action as the music director of the contemporary worship service at Cypress Creek Christian Church know that this album is long overdue!
I encourage you all to visit her just-launched website, Stephanie Sharp Songs, and learn more about her story and passions.
Word on the street is that the CD will be available on iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon by the end of the month!
Stephanie’s family owned a home on Crystal Beach that was completely devastated by Hurricane Ike last September. We ventured out on a wind-whipped, overcast day and held our photo session among the vacant lots and random remaining debris.
Despite the destruction, many homes have since been repaired, rebuilt, and resurrected – Stephanie felt that this atmosphere was more than appropriate to represent the spirit of the Overcomers album.
As we walked along the coast, Stephanie found this tiny chunk of wood.
The seafoam green color was a telltale sign…this was a piece of her destroyed home.
