*squeal*

We just got another huge bow shipment from our friend Fagan at Very Sweet Bows. She wants pictures of so many new bows and headbands for her website…we are going to have a busy day tomorrow!

Here’s a teaser -

Now THAT’S a Birthday Cake!

September 29, 2008

Check out the amazing cake that my cousin, Casey, made for Parker’s birthday party!  She has made a dump truck, a Victoria’s Secret bag spilling out lingerie, a Princess, a disc golf bag, a frog, and even a Super Mario Brothers cake!  Is there anything she CAN’T do?

I ate the entire left sleeve today.  I wish I was exaggerating.

Needless to say, the cake was a hit with the birthday boy.

Work it out, Baby

September 28, 2008

Just trying to unwind after a long day of birthday party-ing…

When suddenly, the urge hits you!

Just. Can’t. Fight it…

Here we go now…

Uh! Uh!

Break it down.

Shake your bow wow!

Whoo!  Yeah…that’s the ticket.

Much better.  And cheese.

Gag me with a Spoon

September 28, 2008

Parker had his birthday party today and the 1,000,000 presents have been thrown up all over my living room.  (bonus points if you can find Bailey)

Our water heater sprang a leak and vomited water all over our hardwood floors.

My suitcase refuses to unpack itself and has puked its contents all over the bedroom.

Overwhelmed, overwhelmed, overwhelmed.   The mess in my house right now is simply nauseating.  So where do I get to toss my cookies?

Kissing Cousins

September 26, 2008

…of the sweetest kind.

Parker ADORES his cousin Macaylie and they had so much fun hanging out together last week.

We still don’t have internet, cable, or phone around here…but I’ve somehow found a pocket of steal-able service for the moment.  Thank you, non-Comcast neighbor of mine!

I have lots of wild and crazy hurricane stories to share, but I honestly can’t bring myself to get into it all just yet.  I’ve been feeling so worn down.  I can’t imagine all of those who lost their homes completely or have had major damage.  I am trying to focus on how incredibly fortunate we have been.  The whole experience is just plain funky.  Yeah.  I’m in a funk.

But the kids are still cute, my husband is still lovely, and I truly can’t complain.

Home, Sweet Home

September 23, 2008

Exhausted.

Thankful.

Brunette.

It has been quite the week (and a half?) and I am overwhelmed with the amount of junk that I have to deal with.  I am sooooo ready to re-discover “normal” life.

Updates soon.  Butt in the meantime…

Hurry up and WAIT.

September 11, 2008

Darn you, Ike.

We are headed to my mom’s house for the next couple of nights.  It looks like the city is anticipating some major power outages, if nothing else, so I’m packing up the kids and heading north!  Fingers crossed that the 30 mile voyage to Mom’s won’t take NINE hours like it did in 2005 for Hurricane Rita.  I can’t believe Matt has to work late tonight.  Seriously?  What about your helpless wife and children at the mercy of Mother Nature??

Oh, I kid.  He’s just a loyal, hard-workin’ dude and I admire him for it.  But really, Matt, COME HOME SOON and get your arse up to Conroe!  Pretty please.  :)

I hate all of the unnecessary panic and chaos, but I sure don’t want to be the lone dumbass stuck in an A/C-less house for days because I didn’t make a move at the right time.  So here we go.

Darn you, Ike.

8 Months!

September 10, 2008

Happy 8 months, my sweet Billy Bean!

For fun, here’s the P-man when he was exactly 8 months old.  At the time, he seemed so much older to me than Bailey does now.  They do share the cheek chub thing, don’t they?  And good golly, Parker’s head has always been huge!

Bailey’s first top tooth broke through her gums today!    (Nipples, beware…)

Obtaining photographic evidence proved to be impossible, so you’re just going to have to take my word for it.
